PRESENTING CHARLIE BREAR'S FRIDAY BRIDE #29
TREAT YOURSELF TO THIS SWEET DUO THIS FRIDAY!
Today's love story belongs to a couple (& French bulldog!) as cute as can be! Sam & Kyle married in early September of last year in a rustic styled ceremony at the beautiful Fawlsey Hall Hotel. With the most unforgettable pooch in tow, the fabulous Binky Nixon captured this relaxed wedding of two incredibly loved-up people.
In keeping with the vibe of their celebration, with the help of the ladies at Lola Bridal, Sam wore our ultra comfortable bias cut Torum dress (with a deeper V custom back alteration), layered with our delicate Voulaire lace overdress, to create a flattering yet sophisticated look. She styled up her look with a beautiful beaded back necklace & stunning hair accessories - Sam's attention to finer details really made her outfit incredibly unique.
Feast your eyes on Sam & Kyle's adorable wedding!
How did Kyle propose?
He proposed on our four year anniversary. I left work early and got home to an empty house! There was a bunch of beautiful flowers, a card and the first clue of many, sending me on a treasure hunt all around the town that we live in! It was good fun and the last clue led me to my husband and my little dog at the pub - where we had our first date. He proposed a couple of minutes after I arrived as we were walking by the beautiful canal the pub is on. He had an absolutely stunning ring ready and knew exactly what I wanted (after leaving the iPad open with specific pictures, so he couldn’t get it wrong!)
What was your best experience when trying on dresses?
My favourite experience was being able to spend time with my mum and lifelong best friend and seeing their faces when I tried on all the gorgeous dresses. I found my Charlie Brear dress at Lola Bridal, Northamptonshire, with the help of the wonderful staff there. It’s a once in a lifetime experience that you hopefully, will never have to do again - so enjoy it.
What would your advice be to other brides about shopping for a wedding dress?
It is most definitely true that all brides will tell you to try on a huge variety of dress styles. I ended up picking a similar style to what I knew I wanted and suited my body type, although slightly different. So many brides are shocked to try on a style they thought they didn’t want and end up loving it!
What shoes did you wear?
I am 5ft 9 so I knew I didn’t want to wear heels and I am not a massive shoe person anyway, so I just found a beautiful pair of pearl sandals which went with the whole wedding theme perfectly. Come 5pm, I was barefoot anyway!!
How did you feel after you had ordered your dress?
I felt amazing, excited and relieved! It’s such an important part of a brides day and once I found the dress that was perfect (apart from needing an alteration to make it even more perfect) it was just such a relief.
TAKE 5 WITH THIS WEEK'S #FRIDAY BRIDE SAM!
1. Try not to get stressed over the little things. Even though I was told this, I still did, and I regret it. When the day arrives, you forget everything and are just having the most amazing time.
2. Don’t forget to spend some time standing back and just taking it all in.
3. Make sure you also get some time with your husband. Rather than being separated for the whole day speaking to people, I made sure I wasn't away from Kyle for too long - especially as I see everyone most days anyway.
4. Enjoy yourself! I wanted to enjoy the party and have fun dancing and using the Photobooth.
5. At the end of the day, as long as you and your husband to be are happy with the decisions made and things bought, that is all that matters.
How did you feel walking down the aisle?
A tiny bit nervous but mainly excited and happy, I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face. I am the most emotional person ever and cry at everything but for some reason I didn’t cry in the ceremony at all. It was the best moment of my life and I loved walking down the aisle with my dad (who was much more nervous than me!).
What was the funniest moment of the day? I absolutely loved the speeches from my Dad, groom and best man but my favourite was our wedding dance. Apart from the two of us, no one knew that we had arranged a fast dance routine, after the DJ pretended to mess up the music! It was brilliant!
Did your wedding have any quirky features? Our French Bulldog, Hugo, was a huge part of our ceremony and wedding photos and we got some brilliant ones. We also had a magician and a photo booth which everyone loved.
Where did you go for your honeymoon?
We went to the LUX resort in the Maldives for 10 nights all inclusive – it was incredible and we would 1000000% recommend (we are hoping to go back!)
What will you do with your dress now?
My dress is currently at my Mum and Dad's house collecting dust...We do not want to sell it and are just trying to figure out what to do with it. We will either box it up nicely, frame it or make something for our first baby out of it – who knows!
Did you find organising your wedding an easy process?
It was daunting at first, but after some research it got easy. A lot of it is common sense, and if you are the organised control freak type, then you will be able to organise a wedding. If you know exactly what you want, that also helps.
What are you and your husband’s best memories of the day?
We are unable to pick just one! The ceremony was great, the pictures were amazing, the food was lovely, the speeches were hilarious, the magician was phenomenal and the party was just the best ever! I’m sure every bride says this, but we will be taking credit for throwing an amazing party for all of our family and friends, and wish we could do it every year!
