Does the dress make the bride, or does the bride make the dress?

The latter, in this case. Reena fell in love with our Ready To Wear Collection and chose our Platinum Weave dress styled with a gorgeous neck piece from Bhldn for her wedding.

They were married in October 2015 at their local Registry Office in Weybridge followed by a dinner at the Mazzet Dar in Hampton Court.

Describe the style of your wedding:
An intimate, vintage glam style wedding with close friends and family.

What was your best experience when trying on dresses?
Trying on fabulous dresses at Charlie Brear - this was the first and only bridal showroom I visited. I never imagined I'd find the dress I'd get married in so quickly! Stepping into the charming courtyard and then into the beautiful showroom, Hannah and the team made the experience so special for me.

How did he propose?
My husband proposed to me at home. There was no big romantic gesture but it was a beautiful private moment that I'll cherish forever.

What would your advice be to other brides about shopping for a wedding dress?
Give yourself at least 6 months before the wedding date to get your dress. I didn't realise how long the lead times are so was left with very limited options as we only gave ourselves three months to organise the big day.

How did you feel after you had ordered your dress?
Relieved! I ordered the dress two months before the wedding and it was touch and go whether I'd get the dress I wanted. I ended up with a gorgeous Platinum Weave strapless dress from the RTW Collection. I knew it was the one the instant I tried it on.

What shoes did you wear?
I wore some beautiful brocade shoes from Bhldn with crystal embellished heels that matched the dress perfectly.

Did you follow any traditions?
We didn't follow any traditions and saw each other before the ceremony. We decided on getting our photographs taken prior to the ceremony which actually worked out well as it took the nerves away when walking down the aisle. It also allowed us both to enjoy time with our friends and family after the ceremony.

Who did your hair and make up?
The lovely Gemma Sutton did my hair and make up for the day and I couldn't have been happier with the final look. I was given a gorgeous makeover with a touch of old Hollywood glamour.

What was the funniest moment of the day?
When we had to exchange the rings during the ceremony, my husband's nerves got the better of him and he just handed me the ring rather than putting it on my finger.

Did your wedding have any unique features?
Just some personal touches that were unique to our day. My beautiful bouquet of anemones, roses and hydrangeas from Nikki Tibbles Wild at Heart with buttonholes and wrist corsages for the bridal party. We had a delicious red velvet cake from The Cake Parlour, photo booth props and marshmallow favours at dinner and topped off the night with sparklers with the wedding party under the stars.

Who took your fabulous wedding pictures?
The amazing Andy Cao was recommended to me by a close friend and he captured some beautiful memories of our special day.

How did you feel walking down the aisle?
I felt excited and super happy to be marrying my best friend and life partner.

If you could do it all again what would you do differently?
I wouldn't do anything differently. All the plans came together and everyone enjoyed the day which was the most important thing.

Where did you go for your honeymoon?
We went for a minimoon to the Lake District which was super romantic. We are planning the main honeymoon for early 2016 to somewhere a lot warmer!

Did you find organising your wedding an easy process?
I organised the whole wedding on my own which meant I didn't have a lot of conflicting opinions to contend with. The challenge was bringing everything together in such a short time frame.

What will you do with your dress now?
I am keeping the dress and will definitely be wearing it again for summer parties!

We really hope you enjoyed this week's Real Life Bride.
Have a great weekend!
